You don’t often hear “stylish” and “property management” in the same breath, but the new Lieberman Management Services website associates the two words like Peanut Butter and Jelly—and it has amazing features and functionality to top it off. The Lieberman Management Services site was a few years old, and like most websites from over two years ago it was in need of a refresh to keep up with technology and current trends.
The new Lieberman Management Services website features:
• An updated look. The previous website wasn’t horribly outdated in style, as it was only a few years old. But because technology is changing so rapidly, the site needed an overhaul for function. And because technology isn’t finished changing, with websites we are able to go a little trendy with design—we always anticipate having to update websites in another 3-4 years because things will have changed again. In fact, with this particular mosaic look, our web designer and art director each came up with designs separately that incorporated the same look. And if that weren’t enough, when we presented the design to the client, one woman declared, “I just saw this mosaic style at a Starbucks this morning!” It was a look that was meant to be.
• A responsive design. Because of rapidly changing technology and the rise in mobile and tablet use, sites have to be responsive. (For those not in the web or technology industries, “Responsive” means that the site will respond based on the device that is being used. Navigation, design, and copy automatically change and stack allowing it all it to be legible to the viewer on any device.) This site now looks great and functions in the easiest possible way on tablets, cell phones, and any size computer screen.
• Editing features. The new website can easily be updated by the client, and every page can have special, stylish editing features like columns, accordions, tabs and more. (These features offer different interesting ways to lay out copy on a page.) This adds interest, especially for websites like Lieberman’s where the site needs to include a lot of important content. Another editing feature includes a form module, which allows the client to build and edit forms.
• Special sauce. I’m lumping some of the sexy new features into this category. The new site includes a dynamic, searchable map of the properties Lieberman manages. Also, the site includes a Mega Menu—because Lieberman has a lot of important content, but “less is more” is valued in web design, the menu beneath the main buttons spans the width of the site. This allows the space for more content links without having an endlessly long drop down menu.
