Well, this was a pleasant surprise. In a day when retailers either promote products or they promote their brand, it’s nice to see Walgreens create ads that promote their connection with those who are battling cancer. What’s even more impressive is that they do it not by telling us about the connection, but instead by allowing us, through their very personal clips, to actually feel the connection.
The campaign lets us know that Walgreens understands what cancer patients are going through without needing to push any products. The clips show women in all stages of treatment confidently moving forward with their lives, even though they face what is likely a scary and challenging future.
Then, to take this a step further, Walgreens created a website specifically for this campaign. While it’s not very fancy, it does support the campaign well.
